I was inspired to capture the magical feel of the Untermyer Gardens along with the beautiful architecture mixed with elements of nature. I focused on high contrast and shadows that caught my eye and photographing the gardens from unique angles. The Untermyer Gardens were designed by architect Welles Bosworth in 1916 across 150 acres overlooking the Hudson River. It was inspired by ancient Indo-Persian gardens and elements of Greek architecture. In the Persian language, gardens are called pardis, and translated to english that means in the sense of heaven. The gardens are intended to mimic a paradise on earth and the Garden of Eden. I hope these photos emanate the enchanting feeling I felt when walking through the Untermyer Gardens.
